October | 04, 2019 :: The primary objective of the Chalachitram National Film Festival (CNFF) is to explore the possibility of film as a weapon to create awareness about Indian heritage, and to showcase its uniqueness and richness. Films must therefore ideally have a HERITAGE theme, and/or the following sub-themes:
Lands and peoples
Festivals, arts and culture
Monuments and heritage sites
Environment and social awareness
Family system
Biographies
ELIGIBILITY — FILMMAKER /WRITER /PHOTOGRAPHER
Open to anyone anywhere in the world, but the film/screenplay/photograph must primarily have a STRONG INDIAN CONTEXT.
Organizing, selection, jury, and committee members are NOT allowed to participate as contestants.
ELIGIBILITY DATES
Any film /photograph created between Jan 01 and Dec 31, 2019

FILM DURATION
Competition: 1 to 25 mins, including credits time
Non-competition: ideally, 60 to 100 mins
LANGUAGE OF THE FILM & SUBTITLES
The film can either be silent or with dialogues in any language.
All films, including the ones in English, must have English subtitles.
