Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren has taken a firm step towards improving the rural economy and financially empowering the farmers of Jharkhand. Along with agriculture, work is being done to take the state ahead in the field of fisheries and milk production. The government envisions to ensure ease in agriculture work to the farmers of Jharkhand. In this pursuit, the government is providing loans to the farmers through the Kisan Credit Card scheme. Apart from agriculture; the loan is available for the farmers involved in fishery and dairy farming.
2,01,687 farmers have been approved by different banks
For the empowerment of farmers, the process of covering them under the benefits of KCC is ongoing. So far, applications of more than 2,01,687 farmers have been approved by different banks across the state. A sum of 68,516 lakh has been sanctioned as a loan to the beneficiaries under KCC. Whereas, a loan of Rs 734.5 lakh has been sanctioned to 1359 farmers for fishery farming. So far, a total loan of Rs 1545.1 Lakh has been sanctioned to the dairy farmers. Additionally, Rs 662.9 lakh has been approved through Jharkhand State Milk Federation to 2,701 beneficiaries across the state.
“Special instructions have been given by the Chief Minister to cover a maximum number of beneficiaries under KCC. We are running awareness campaigns across the state to make people aware of the schemes. The department is working in mission mode to ensure that a maximum number of farmers get covered under the benefits of KCC.”
