National Summit to celebrate the 30 years of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at CESS, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad | November | 15, 2019 :: 30 years after global leaders adopted the United Nations Convention on Rights of the Child (UNCRC); India has made strides in moving towards ensuring rights of children – however, child rights is still an unfinished agenda requiring urgent action to realise commitments made to children.
Joining Forces for Children – India, an alliance of six leading child-focused organisations ( Save the Children, Child fund India, TerredesHommes, Plan India, World Vision and SOS Children’ villages ), organized a National Summit for Children to celebrate the 30 years of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at CESS, Hyderabad.
The summit was for stocktaking of Child Rights in India and reflected on the future course of actions ensuring full implementation of the Convention. Mr Jagadeeshwar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Govt. of Telangana was the Chief Guest, Ms Swathi Lakra IPS, IG of Police-Telangana, Ms Seshukumari, Director SCERT Telangana, Mr Antony Sebastian Chairperson of KSCPCR, Ms Hymavathi, Chairperson APSCPCR, Ms Sandhyabhati Pradan, Chairperson OdishaSCPCR, Mr Srinivas, Chairperson Telangana SCPCR and 6 Child Changemakers were the guests of honour. 150 people from six orgs, NGOs, Media, Children, Govt.
