New Delhi | July | 14, 2016 :: SANGEET SMRITI, a Delhi-based organisation committed to keeping alive the music of the golden era, celebrated the birth anniversary of Anil Biswas, to whom it is dedicated, with a tribute to the revolutionary composer Rahul Dev Burman. Entitled RD-X BLAST, it presented the multi-faceted talent of the composer who changed the sound of film music by introducing a new style and sound, modern instruments and variety of tunes. Aptly showcasing the many moods of Pancham, his classical, lyrical as well as rhythmic numbers, it featured professional singers Shrikant Narayan and Alok Katdare from Mumbai and a galaxy of Delhi talent. A surprise item by the Saregamapa finalist Harjot Kaur was one of the highlights of the programme.
One of the most renowned musicians of India, the remarkable Mayur Soni and his Honey Tune Band, came all the way from Bhuj, to provide the musical accompaniment.
Adequately compered by the well-known radio jockey IPS Bawa with a judicious balance of humour and information, the musically-enriching presentation was well-received and highly lauded. The event was held on 10th July 2016 at Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park, New Delhi.
