Ranchi, Jharkhand | August | Wednesday | 12, 2015 :: UNICEF Child reporters in Jharkhand are celebrating the International Youth Day (12 August) by pledging their support to the Education Department’s “Swachha Vidyalaya, Swachha Bachhe” campaign to be launched on 18 August in the state.
The child reporters visited UNICEF office yesterday, where the Meena’s “Three Wishes” story/comic book was used to convey the sanitation and hygiene messages to the child reporters who came up with catchy slogans, short stories, drawing and poems for their wall newspaper in school.
The child reporters today are visiting an FM station in Ranchi which is part of UNICEF’s “Forum for Children on Radio” to take over the air waves for full day programing around the importance of handwashing; toilet use and safe drinking water tomorrow (12 August).
The youth can be excellent peer educators and agents of change in their family and community.
