The 13th foundation day of the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi

Ranchi, Jharkhand  | December  |15, 2021 ::  15th December 2021 was a landmark in the History of the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi. On this auspicious day, The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi inaugurated the Library (at Permanent Campus) and the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness.

The 13th foundation day of the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi was graced by Honorable Chief Guest – Shri Ramesh Bais, Governor of Jharkhand, Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi, founder and CEO of R systems, Chairman – Praveen Shankar Padya, Director – Professor Shailendra Singh, and other dignitaries, faculty, employees, and students.

The program started with the felicitation of the Governor, followed by the lightening of the lamp & Saraswati Vandana.

The Director of the Institute, Prof. Shailendra Singh, discussed the journey of the Institute since its establishment and how it has moved to be one of the leading educational institutions of the Country. He praised Ramesh Bais and expressed his gratitude for his gracious presence. He spoke about the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, which was named after the great leader who encouraged young people and whose beliefs continue to inspire many people today. “IIM Ranchi began with 77 students and a single MBA course. We now have seven courses and over 1000 students. Our students are making an impression all around the world. We had only two faculty members with us when we started in 2011, and we currently have 55 faculty members. We have worked on the principles of Ek Bharath Shresth Bharath, where students from all over India are present at IIM Ranchi. We have been an active association with Unnat Bharath Abhiyaan, where students have been solving problems of the backward and unprivileged. It is one of the largest Community empowerment initiatives. We also have the Birsa Munda tribal a?airs center, promoting local entrepreneurship. One notable project is the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Centre for Leadership, Policy, and Governance, where we are doing many research projects and impactful activities for the betterment of society and the nation. We’re also a?liated with Atma Nirbhar Bharath and have worked on the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship Program, where we’re closely collaborating with folks from Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. To promote self-employment, we have traveled to many sections of the state to establish entrepreneurial and skill development centers. Today, we will inaugurate the Rekhi’s Centre of Excellence for the Sciences of Happiness where Dr. Rekhi’s leadership can help them expand their knowledge,” he says.

Honorable chairman Praveen Shankar Pandya expressed his delight at the opportunity to welcome students, fellow board of directors, professors, and governors into IIM Ranchi’s 13th year. IIM Ranchi’s NIRF rankings have risen steadily throughout the years, making it one of the best places for management studies. He praised the Jharkhand government for helping him advance this institution. “Ranchi is encircled by tribal belts and societies and we are not only looking forward to improving livelihoods, but we are also revolutionizing transformation in Jharkhand”, he added.

Following that, Honorable Chiefuest Ramesh Bais, Government of Jharkhand, inaugurated the ‘10 years of excellence book,’ which contains the recollections of the Institute’s ?rst ten years.

Two of the lecturers were recognized for their ten years of service at IIM Ranchi. Professors Amit Sachan and Amrendra Nandy, for their unwavering dedication to the college, were presented with a keepsake. They re?ected on the glorious ten years and how, despite several obstacles, combined e?orts resulted in steady and organic growth, making us one of India’s top institutes today. Over the years, their honesty, sincerity, and e?orts have aided the development of innumerable students and the Institute.

The message of Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi about the Rekhi Centre of Happiness to the students is, “We require it because happiness is true success, the ultimate currency, and life’s meaning.”

The Governor makes the following remarks: Today is an auspicious day for you. Finally, the Governor spoke to the gathering. IIM Ranchi and all the pillars who have contributed to the Institute’s illustrious years are to be congratulated. And it has become one of India’s best management institutes; it is a credit to the state to have such institutes. I am pleased that the Institute is pursuing new initiatives to uplift tribals and the impoverished. The Institute was founded with the goal of advancing education for the betterment of society, and it continues to strive in that direction. We are not only developing skilled managers but also future leaders. The Institute will continue to operate in various subjects, including agriculture, craftsmanship, healthcare, and other areas. IIM Ranchi will continue to impart knowledge and develop individuals to be better leaders.

Momento was presented to the Governor after the occasion. The function was followed by a cultural performance by IIM Ranchi students and a vote of gratitude for the chief guest for attending. According to the closing remarks, we at IIM Ranchi will live up to the vision and mission of the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness.
