Ranchi, Jharkhand | April | 07, 2017 :: The tiny tots of Primary Wing in Delhi Public School, Ranchi celebrated World Health Day on 07th April, 2017 with a special function filled with activities and programmes and shared their roles to develop a healthy tomorrow.
The celebration was organised with a purpose to develop a sense of healthy life style among students and an understanding through which they can acquire their mental and physical fitness.
Students of Class I drew everyone attention to the subject of major importance – healthy food habits. Students presented a talk show and expressed their views on healthy body and balanced diet. They also prepared lovely cards for their parents with a message to take care of their health. The students sang songs and recited poems emphasizing on healthy lifestyle and abolishing junk food. Children of Class II also presented a colourful programme. They showcased a wonderful dance programme, a group song on the importance of Health and avoiding wastage of food. They also notified dos and don’ts necessary for a healthy life along with pronouncing powerful slogans such as “Eat to live not live to eat”.
The school Principal Dr. Ram Singh was the Chief Guest of the celebration. He enlightened the students with some tips as how to remain healthy. He said “I strongly believe that the greatest gift you can give your family and the world is a healthy you, so make sure you eat a variety of food with balanced nutrient, get plenty of exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
The celebration overall was able to develop a comprehension among children that health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease and we can obtain it with a joint effort.
