Ranchi, Jharkhand | April | 07, 2017 :: After the successful celebration of XISS’ Diamond Jubilee Celebration, the institute was set to host its 56th Graduation Ceremony for the Batch 2015-17 on 7th April 2017.
The chief-guest for the occasion was Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, Ranchi University. The Convocation Procession started with a prayer song by the XISS Choir. Fr. Henry Barla, SJ (Ph. D), Vice-Chairman, Governing Body, XISS addressed the chief-guest and the audience with his welcome speech. Fr. Alexius Ekka, SJ (Ph. D), Director, XISS presented the Director’s Report. Also, the institute witnessed the release of “AXIS-2017”, the annual magazine of XISS, along with other publications. Fr. Alexius Ekka, felicitated the recipient of “Fr. Michael Van den Bogaert, SJ Memorial Distinguished Alumnus Award” – M. I. Jaffrey, Sr. Joint Secretary (Rtd.), DVC, Kolkata.
A total of 291 students of Batch 2015-17 received their diplomas. 15 students of all the departments were the top rank holders who received the gold, silver and bronze medal respectively. They are as follows:-

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of mementos to the Dignitaries. The ceremony was a success, bustling with joyful tears and laughter of the passing out students and their proud parents and professors.
The institute also successfully completed its final placement procedure for the PGDM Batch of 2015-17. This year final placement has achieved a new milestone by getting 10 Pre-Placement Offers and a highest package of Rs. 15.50 lakhs per annum even in the difficult economic situation due to demonetization and impact of international markets and political scenario. XISS was successful in getting the participation of 80+ companies in the final placement process out of which 32 per cent were new recruiters. The number of offers made was 243 with a highest salary of Rs. 15.50 lakh per annum and the average salary package was Rs. 6.12 lakh per annum. The Dept. of Rural Management and the Dept. of Marketing has achieved a placement of 99% and 91% respectively. The recruiters participated were from different sectors such as Consultancy, Manufacturing, Logistics, FMCG, IT, Telecom, Retail, Social/Non- Profit Organizations, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) etc. The highest package achievers of all the departments were “Dept. of HRM: Sushant Kumar Singh and Amarjeet Kumar, Company-ITC, bagged PPO of Rs. 16 LPA”, “Dept. of Marketing: Venketesh, Company- Tata Power, Rs. 9.15 LPA”, “Dept. of Rural Management: Adyasha Dash and Suraj Tigga, Company- Dharma Life, Rs.6.50 LPA”, “Dept. of Finance: Bhawana Kumari, Atashi Das and Tanul Bharadwaj, Company- Capital First, Rs. 6.3 LPA”, and “Dept. of IT: Chandini Khatoon, Company- TCS, Rs. 6 LPA”. The percentage of students placed in different departments are: 67% (HRM), 100% (RM), 91% (Marketing), 87% (Finance) and 68% (IT). Overall placement has reached a total of 84%. The institute is expecting a few more offers as the recruitment of a couple of organisations is still in process.
