Ranchi, Jharkhand April 07, 2015 :: Jharkhand Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi alongwith UNICEF Jharkhand Chief Job Zachariah, Dirctor in Chief Dr. Sumant Mishra, Mission Director Ashish Singhma, DIC Food Dr. Praveen Chandra and others during launching ceremony of ‘Mission Indradhanush’ on the occasion of World Health Day at Institute of Public Health Convention Centre in Namkom, Ranchi on on Tuesday.
Mission Indradhanush
Mission Indradhanush was launched by Union Health Minister J.P Nadda on December 25, 2014.
It aims to immunize all children against seven vaccine preventable diseases namely Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Polio, tuberculosis, Measles and Hepatitis B by 2020.
The Minister launched the Mission on Good Governance Day to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Madan Mohan Malaviya and birthday of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The Ministry will be technically supported by WHO, UNICEF, Rotary International and other donor partners. Mass media, interpersonal communication, and sturdy mechanisms of monitoring and evaluating the scheme are crucial components of Mission Indradhanush
