55th Foundation Day of FJCCI [ 15 September 1960 ]

Ranchi, Jharkhand 15 September 2014 :: Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries (formally Chotanagpur Chamber of Commerce & Industries) was established on 15th Sep, 1960. Late Sri Raibahadur Harakchand Jain was the founder president and Late Sri Atmaram Budhia Hon’ble Secretary of the Chamber. Initially the office of the Chamber was started from Budhia Building to Hindustan Building, Congress Bhawan, 1st floor of Bharat Shoe Co. and now in its own Building situated Kadru bye pass Road. The construction of the five floor building was possible due to financial help from the Hon’ble members as also the past presidents namely Late Sri P.L. Chopra, Late Sri Prem Kr. Poddar and Senior members Sri Sita Ram Rungta. The FJCCI represents the apex body of Traders, Industrialists, Professionals of the entire Jharkhand State.

 With the formation of Jharkhand state in November 2000, FJCCI became the apex body representing Trade bodies Industrial Association & Chambers of Commerce & Industries of the entire Jharkhand State. It has taken upon itself the responsibility of upliftment of trade, Commerce & Industries and to generate awareness above the imperators of regional economic co-operation. In the context of change in the economic scenario to the liberalization, globalization & privatization as a non-Govt., non-profit organization there is greater need of FJCCI for involvement of business & Industry with Govt. & Non-Govt. bodies and Institutions on the issues not only for creating conducive environment for business to grow & compete but also for rendering yeomen’s service towards development of the society.

 The present membership of FJCCI is about 2374 which includes 77 trade & Industries Association Affiliated with the Chamber. The memberships of these associations are about five thousand.

 The services of the Chamber have been recognized by the Central & State Govt. and a representation to the Chamber was granted on the advisory committees constituted by them like Railway, Air, BSNL and different State and Central Committees.
