GUWAHATI, 18 June 2012 :: Chief Minister Assam, Tarun Gogoi assured a plot of land for the Guwahati Press Club (GPC). Tarun Gogoi who was the Guest of the Month at GPC here, expressed his goodwill for the journalist fraternity and promised that he would do the needful for GPC.
On the occasion, a power point presentation was made in front of Gogoi, where a number of pictorial slides of the proposed press club were shown. The proposed press club is a state-of-the-art building complex that would stand out as a landmark of Guwahati. The building will have all the modern facilities with provisions of high tech modern IT gadgets and instruments along with V-sets for instant access to and from all over the globe.
A memorandum with the print-outs of the presentation was handed over
to the Chief Minister by Nava Thakuria, secretary of the press club.
It needs to be mentioned here that the press club hall was officially
converted into an air-conditioning auditorium from June 18, 2012.
Three AC machines presented by Satyam Foundation were activated in the
presence of the head of State government.
