Ranchi, Jharkhand | July | 22, 2019 :: It’s that time of the year again; to witness the feeling, the zeal and the excitement of starting the new journey by the juniors and the warmth, care and guiding light that is shared by the seniors towards the juniors. To celebrate this beautiful bond between seniors and juniors and to welcome these budding lights to begin their new phase of life, Information Technology department introduced Riturang – The Freshers Programme on 22nd July 2019 from 3 p.m. onwards. The event was attended by all juniors and seniors of IT department as well as the faculty members of all the departments.
The event emcees got the audiences hooked and in splits with their engaging oratory and interesting punch lines.
The event began with the Lighting the Lamp ceremony by Assistant Director Fr. Pradeep Kerketta followed by a Welcome speech by the Assistant Director himself. The cultural program commenced with a welcome dance by students that let out an air of exuberance amongst all. The students performed on various dance forms and sang many songs. There were fun games conducted too for the Faculty Members and they performed on various popular music no’s. There was also a skit performed by the students. And then came the highlight of the evening – The Ramp Walk; which consisted of rigorous 3 rounds that tested the beauty and brains of the boys and girls of IT 1 in the most interesting way possible. After a series of multiple rounds, Hardik Poddar and Anamika Ghosh were crowned with the coveted title of Mr. and Ms. Fresher respectively. The evening of Fun and Frolic ended with a vote of thanks followed with a series of multiple memory making picture sessions. Indeed, it was a well spent day at XISS.
